As you may have recognized from the logo, Radville BMX is a homage to the infamous brand that once stood in Rockville, Maryland. It was the home to many of the legendary riders and World Tours that were customary each summer thru the 80's. They hosted a local track and sponsored many riders in the area. It was an integral part of the East Coast BMX culture, spilling over to the Southern California scene with many riders emerging from the area to contribute their talents to the greater sport. The local bike shop scene has changed quite a bit from those days and those summer tours still remain epic with internet footage from those days as evident of the times when the sport was just starting and riders were inventing new tricks everyday that filled the pages of magazines like Freestylin' & BMX Action and BMX Plus. If you were lucky enough to catch a show live in those days, you won't want to miss seeing the team do it again 40 years later to celebrate the milestone for the Spirit of BMX Freestyle. And if you missed it, now's your chance to see it now.
As a Maryland homer, Vinny founded Radville BMX to pay homage to the local roots, give respect to the Old School and embrace the new school era with a local bike shop that continues to support & showcase riders. Radville BMX was established to focus on 3 important components to the BMX community: Events, Experience & Bikes. The Spirit of BMX Freestyle covers all 3 and more, as Vinny became the Tour Manager for the Back for More in '24 Tour, he wanted to create a documentary that would bring the shows to more people beyond the 7 shows that the team did in Europe, the United Kingdom and the USA in the Summer of 2024.
Ron, Brian and Dave always looked forward to the tour stop in Maryland and did their first shows as together there in the summer of 1985. Spike worked tat Rockville BMX and eventually he went along for the ride with the team as the Team's 1st Tour Manager! The rest is history...and now the Spirit of BMX Freestyle comes alive in 2025. The Documentary is directed by Filmmaker Mark Eaton, who grew up just north of Rockville, in iconic York PA. After bringing the BMX World the masterpiece Joe Kid on a Stingray and many other legendary flicks, Mark admittingly loved to watch along with his friends, the Plywood Hoods, the Original Haro Team whenever they came to Rockville. As he says in the opening scenes, the Haro Team went higher than anyone.
The Spirit of BMX Freestyle features all the Trix in 2026! Brought to you on streaming, we hope you enjoy watching as much as we enjoyed doing it. The Back for More in '24 Tour is now live for your viewing pleasure...
